Desert travels in South Australia.

My novel, Legend of the Opal Dragon, is a tribute to the people of the Outback of Australia and a mystery/adventure that takes the reader to a rarely explored area of South Australia. The vast desert areas are extensive with seismic activity around the Flinders Ranges, a curious uplift called Wilpena Pound, which I have camped in, as well as flown over years ago and the oddity of Coober Pedy with its opal mining. My story brings alive the skills needed to survive and the resilience of the people who live sometimes exciting lives in the boundless desert lands. It also celebrates the majestic Australian dragon, Megalania priscus, that lived in the inland waters of inland Australia some 400 million years ago.

In the end, the dragon has the last laugh.
